We’re the Positively Healthy Team

Working together for your well-being!

  • Hi! I’m Laura.

I specialize in coaching teens to navigate the challenges of stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and sadness. Beyond the external pressures of being overscheduled, the academic and extracurricular competition, and the struggles with social comparison in person and on social media, these difficulties often trace back to negative thinking patterns and internal beliefs linked to low self-worth and self-confidence. These thoughts and emotions can manifest in behaviors such as poor grades, substance use, self-harm, unhealthy relationships, social avoidance, bullying, or being bullied. My focus is on helping teens cultivate higher-quality thoughts, fostering happiness and self-assurance. By incorporating neuroscience, positive psychology, and mind-body practices, I empower them to make psychologically, physically, socially, and spiritually healthy choices.

I work with parents, addressing both their roles as parents and as individuals. Moms, in particular, grapple with substantial stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. The unrealistic societal expectations of motherhood, exacerbated by social and entertainment media, often create an unattainable 'perfect mom' image. This pressure can lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms like excessive caffeine or alcohol consumption and neglect of self-care. I emphasize the importance of modifiable lifestyle factors, such as a healthy diet, good sleep habits, regular exercise, and stress management, to maintain a balanced mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My approach involves addressing internal beliefs and external behaviors, guiding moms to become the best versions of themselves and, in turn, the best parents they can be. I also provide communication strategies for dealing with teenagers and offer tools and resources to strengthen the parent-child relationship.

I hold a Master’s degree in Health and Wellness Education, and I am a Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Functional Medicine Health Coach, Elite Coach at The Neuroencoding Institute, Dr. Amen Licensed Brain Trainer, and clinically certified in Stress, Anxiety, and Self-Regulation by the HeartMath Institute. Additionally, I possess an Advanced Certificate in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience (ACBN).

I have called Austin, Texas home for 14 years and am a proud mom of two boys and two girls aged 11, 12, 14, and 15. My passion lies in helping both kids and parents achieve their goals. Personally, I enjoy yoga, walking, and tennis, and I actively participate in my local church and community.

I offer coaching services on a one-to-one basis, conduct group workshops, and deliver presentations to large organizations.

  • Hi! I’m Eric.

I am a highly skilled Neuroencoding Elite Specialist and Brain Health Coach, with a wealth of experience as an Educator. Fueled by a passion for unlocking individuals' full potential, I have devoted my career to guiding people on a transformative journey from where they are to Better, to Great, to Magnificent.

My journey began in the early '90s when I served as a Summer Sports Camp Coach, Youth Club Soccer Coach, and High School Coach. Subsequently, I transitioned into the role of a Middle School, High School, and Adult Education teacher, earning recognition as the California Charter Academy Teacher of the Year in 2004. During this period, I also took on the responsibilities of an Athletic Director, gaining a comprehensive perspective on education and coaching.

In 2006, I co-founded Learning Matters, a venture focused on providing cognitive abilities testing and training for children and teens. My approach incorporated various modalities such as balance, movement, music, brain timing, nutrition, supplementation, and sleep to optimize cognitive function for my clients.

In 2010, I joined Franklin Covey's Education Division as a Senior Consultant, traveling across North America to assist educators, administrators, and parent groups in implementing The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Teens, Kids, and Families into their leadership and culture models of success.

Today, I leverage my expertise in child and family coaching to extend my reach of service internationally. Personally trained by Veenu Keller, the renowned parent/child whisperer, I take pride in being a part of the Positively Healthy team. Together, we assist families in navigating life's challenges and living the life they were designed to live. I am particularly aligned with the idea of giving kids a childhood they won't have to heal from. I firmly believe that when the relationship between parents and kids is enhanced, it paves the way for the creation of peaceful and harmonious families.
