YOUR COLLEGE STUDENT DOESN’T HAVE TO PROVE THEY ARE ENOUGH.

Not with a perfect GPA.

Not by finding their people in the first month.

Not by sounding fine on every call home.

One-on-one coaching for college students who feel anxious, lonely, stuck, or worn out from trying to prove they belong.

You got them to college.

Now what?

You did the drop-off. You got them settled. You told them to call if they needed anything.

Then the calls start. Or they stop.

Maybe they're calling home in tears. Maybe they're spending most of their time in their room while everyone else seems to have found their people. Maybe they're talking about transferring before they've even given the school a real chance.

Or maybe they sound completely fine - and you can still hear something underneath it.

Because college isn't just a new school. It's a new life.

The structure they've known for years is suddenly gone: familiar friends, teachers who know them, routines, family, teams, activities, and the sense of knowing where they fit.

And underneath all of it can be three very human questions:

Am I enough?
Do I matter?
Do I belong?

That's where coaching can help.

Your student does have to put themselves out there. They have to make friends, try new things, show up, take risks, and build a life at school. But they don't have to make every grade, friendship, rejection, or awkward moment mean something about their worth.

Their worth isn't something they earn.

Belonging is something they build.

Confidence is something they practice.

What will actually change?

We're not trying to turn your student into a different person.

We're helping them build the mindset and skill set to handle college - and the life that comes after it - with more confidence, connection, and direction.

AFTER

They learn how to make the first move - even when it feels uncomfortable.

One bad grade feels like proof that they're falling behind.

They learn to separate performance from worth, challenge unhelpful thinking, and recover from setbacks.

They call you every time they have to make a decision.

They learn how to think things through, make their own decisions, and trust themselves.

They want friends but keep waiting for someone else to make the first move.

They learn to take the social risks that build connection.

They know what they should be doing, but can't seem to make themselves do it.

They break the next step down until it feels possible - and then practice doing it.

What might be going on

Your student may be:

  • Doing well academically but struggling socially or emotionally

  • Comparing themselves to everyone around them

  • Holding back because they're afraid of rejection or judgment

  • People-pleasing or struggling to say no

  • Overthinking decisions about friends, school, or their future

  • Spending more time alone than they'd like

  • Knowing what they should do but struggling to do it

  • Talking about transferring, changing majors, or giving up

  • Looking fine on paper while feeling anything but fine

They don't have to be in crisis to benefit from support.

Maybe they're functioning on paper but not thriving.

The work centers on three things.

CONFIDENCE

Building self-trust and understanding that their worth doesn't depend on grades, achievement, or other people's approval.

CONNECTION

Learning how to communicate, set boundaries, navigate social pressure, take healthy social risks, and create genuine belonging.

DIRECTION

Making decisions, clarifying what matters, taking ownership, and moving forward without needing everything figured out first.

The goal isn't for your student to have all the answers. It's for them to become more capable of finding their own.

Let’s chat!

Coaching is about building - not fixing.

Your student doesn't need a diagnosis or to be in crisis to benefit from coaching.

Coaching gives them a place to think things through, build skills, work through challenges, and have another trusted adult in their corner - someone who isn't their parent.

Sessions are one-on-one over Zoom and scheduled around their classes, so coaching works from any campus.

Students anywhere can work with me virtually.

Coaching is not therapy.

Coaching focuses on growth, skill building, self-awareness, decision-making, confidence, and moving forward. I don't diagnose or treat mental health disorders, and coaching isn't a substitute for therapy or other professional mental health care.

If I believe your student needs more than coaching, I'll tell you. Coaching can also work alongside a therapist's care.

And your student leads the work.

With college students, this matters.

At the beginning, we agree together - student, parent, and me - on what gets shared and what stays private.

Your student chooses what we work on.

  • Maybe it's making friends.

  • Maybe it's getting out of their room.

  • Maybe it's speaking up.

  • Maybe it's managing the pressure before exams.

  • Maybe it's figuring out what they actually want.

My job isn't to tell them what to do. It's to help them learn how to think, reflect, make decisions, solve problems, and trust themselves.

A little about me…

Hi, I'm Laura.

I'm a Teen & Young Adult Well-Being Coach, National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and doctoral student studying developmental psychology.

My research centers on how young people develop a sense of worth that doesn't have to be earned - and that's also at the heart of my coaching.

I'm a mom of four teenagers, including a college freshman. I've done the drop-off. I've gotten the calls home. I've watched how hard it can be for a capable young person to find their footing in a completely new environment.

Maybe a parent sent you this link.

Fair enough.

I'm not here to give you a pep talk or tell your parents everything you say.

You decide what we work on.

Making friends. Getting out of your room. Speaking up. Feeling less overwhelmed before exams. Figuring out what you actually want.

My job is to help you figure out what you need, decide what you want, and take the next step.

Your first call is free. It's 30 minutes. It's a conversation - not a commitment.

Confidence. Connection. Direction.

Your student doesn't have to have everything figured out.

They don't have to prove they're enough. They can learn how to build the life they want - and trust themselves along the way.
